SpoonWorks has served as co-chair of the annual Women's Conference at Christ Church Greenwich for three consecutive years, helping to grow a beloved community gathering into a signature event that has drawn an increasingly wide audience of women each year.

2024 — Mind, Body & Spirit | March 2, 2024

In nine months of planning, SpoonWorks defined the conference theme, identified and engaged 12 female thought leaders for 16 speaking engagements, contracted with food vendors, liaised with in-house facilities and marketing teams, and led a 15-person leadership committee. We also identified local sponsors and curated a shopping marketplace of female-owned businesses operating adjacent to the conference.

Opening remarks were delivered by Caroline Simmons, Mayor of Stamford. Keynote speaker Kathleen Silard, President and CEO of Stamford Health, anchored the day with a talk on the Surgeon General's report on loneliness and the irreplaceable necessity of community. Seminars spanned women's spiritual life, mental health, parenting, longevity and nutrition, midlife health, trauma and healing, and contemplative practice. The conference drew 170 women from 23 parishes across the region, with roughly half coming from outside Christ Church Greenwich.

2025 — On Balance and Perspective | March 29, 2025

Keynote speaker Connecticut Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz anchored a day of immersive programming designed to help women find steadiness and clarity in every dimension of life. Opening prayer and remarks were delivered by Rev. Suzy Post. Seminars explored Scripture and women's wisdom literature, the courage to embrace joy, longevity and nutrition, the intersection of faith and therapy, the empty nest, food as medicine, family relationships across generations, and yoga and movement. The conference drew 150 women from 26 parishes — with 58% coming from outside Christ Church Greenwich, reflecting its growing reach across Fairfield County and beyond.

2026 — Your Awakened Life | April 18, 2026

Keynote speaker Kate Bowler opened the day with a talk on faith, suffering, joy, and the truths of human life, with each attendee receiving a copy of her new book. Seminars spanned neuroscience and prayer, legacy and faith, financial independence, sound and contemplative practice, digital wellness, floral design, spiritual renewal, and centering prayer.

Two seminars in particular generated extraordinary buzz. Dr. Betsy Holmberg, psychologist, presented "The God Circuit" — a fascinating exploration of what neuroscience reveals about faith, prayer, and spiritual experience in the brain. And Dr. Elizabeth Schrader Polczer, a New Testament scholar at Villanova University, brought her groundbreaking research on Mary Magdalene in the Gospel of John, including her analysis of crossed-out and altered names across multiple ancient manuscripts of John’s Gospel — raising provocative questions about how Mary Magdalene's role in early Christianity may have been suppressed over centuries of textual transmission. Both sessions were among the most talked-about of the day.

Demand exceeded the conference's 250-person full-day capacity for the first time, with keynote-only tickets opened to accommodate additional interest — bringing total attendance to over 300. First-time attendees traveled from across the Northeast to attend.
